1979 Ford Granada - $6,500

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

1979 Ford with just 45816 miles. Very clean and ready to drive. I have just put new belts, water pump, all hoses. Also a new battery. There is no rust and the car has been maintained from new.

I think we should go back to interior colors that aren’t tan, grey or black.

There have been two vehicles that I’ve daily driven that had red interiors like that and I quite enjoyed it.

Not the car for me, but I’d definitely vote Nice Price on it.

Almost looks like if  Chevy rebadged a Mustang II.

Definitely NP.  I knew base models of these things had a stick but I’ve only ever seen column mounted ones.  Amazing condition. Most of these were commuters that were abused and ended up in the junkyard by mid 90’s. Crazy to see one in this condition. I’m sure it’s slow as can be with that 6 cylinder even with the manual, but that’s not really the point.

Still there, just on 2950 as opposed to 2850... Which now is a Starbucks.

In all seriousness though while there are a lot of cars offering red seats, there’s pretty much no way outside of exotics to get a red interior like you could up through the 90’s. Lexus seems to be giving something close a try as an option on the refreshed IS. We’ll see if enough people buy them in that color for Lexus/Toyota to spread it further.

Wow, I have never seen one with a stick! This needs the More Power!!and also some brakes  treatment. I would rock it as is for the show circuit, but it needs boosted sleeper mods, stat!

That’s a cool car. When I first saw the post, my first thought was, “They put manual transmissions in some of those.” And lo! I rode in one of those once that had a manual behind a V8. I don’t like coupes, generally, and I don’t like red interiors, but that car I would enjoy driving.

I. Don’t. Like. Red. Interiors. But I like that Grenade. The six-banger makes it funner.

Two door coupe, inline six, manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.

My question is whether it would be better to keep it stock and preserve the originality, or to do some engine and suspension improvements to make it more fun to drive. The top-end Granada had the 351 cu engine, so you could fit one in there and at least keep it true to the model even if the VIN and engine don’t match.

My first car a 94 Plymouth Voyager was red on the outside and inside and I loved it. I also had a 96 Voyager but it was white on the outside and grey on the inside.

I think color in a car adds whimsy and a bit of spice into your day. As others have posted there are apparently a few models with color still out there.

Needs a Barra engine swap.

I wouldn’t swap out a numbers-matching engine and drivetrain, from a car that nice. At most I would put some bigger front brakes on (if the stock wheels clear), new shocks if it needed em, fresh new tires obviously, and roll with it otherwise as-is.
